WORK IN PROGRESS

A fairy-tale infused historical novel for adults set in the late 18 th century, moving between Imperial China and France during the ‘Terror’ of the French Revolution, and inspired by the true story of a quest for a blood-red rose.

The novel will draw upon ‘The Blue Rose,’ a fairy tale set in China about a quest for an impossible rose.

Contact

Thanks so much for wanting to get in contact with me. I love hearing from my readers. Please forgive me if it takes me a while to get back to you - I do get hundreds of emails!

If you wish me to come and talk to your school, or library, or book club, thank you so much - please check out my Workshops and Talks page (and my FEES page) before you email me.

I'm afraid I do not offer a manuscript assessment service. If you would like me to give you some feedback on your own writing, come and do a writing workshop with me. You can find out where I'm next teaching on my Appearances page, or simply sign up to my VIP Club and I'll email you to let you know.

If you have a simple question about writing to ask me, please check out THE STORY DOCTOR blog first. I answer all writing questions there and it is possible I have already posted the answer to your question there.

I'm very happy to say that Book 5 of THE IMPOSSIBLE QUEST series, BATTLE OF THE HEROES was released in Australia on September 2015.

The most recent of my fairy-tale-inspired historical novels, THE BEAST'S GARDEN, was released in Australia in August 2015. I am also working on a new novel called BEAUTY IN THORNS about the extraordinary love story behind the famous Sleeping Beauty painting by Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones.

Finally, if you just loved my Witches of Eileanan series and wish to know if I'm planning on writing any more books set in the magical, faraway land, I'm afraid I have no plans to do so at the moment ... but I never say never ...

However, the whole two series have been released with beautiful new covers. Look out for them!

Here are the answers to a whole lot of other Frequently Asked Questions, and please take a look at my blog, in which I share all the books I've been reading plus much, much more.
