Season's greetings from Sydney, Australia!

It is midsummer here in Sydney and my garden is bursting with beauty.

All my roses in bloom and baby tomatoes are ripening on the vine.

It’s been a busy but happy few months for me.

I appeared on ‘Conversations with Richard Fidler’ and had hundreds of emails and messages as a result – if you missed the interview, you can download it from the ABC website

I am also very happy to announce that my history of Rapunzel, which I wrote as my doctoral thesis, is to be published next year by FableCroft.
Entitled THE REBIRTH OF RAPUNZEL: A MYTHIC BIOGRAPHY OF THE MAIDEN IN THE TOWER, it will also contain a few related essays on folklore and fairy tales. Read more here!

Lots of new book reviews on the blog, featuring writers as diverse as Daphne du Maurier, Garth Nix, Alice Hoffman. A.S. Byatt and Fanny Billingsley.
I also shine a spotlight on the History & Meaning of the “Beauty and the Beast” fairy tale and write about my famous ancestress who wrote the first children’s book published in Australia

I was very pleased to see THE BEAST’S GARDEN was named one of the Best Books of 2015 by Booktopia (THE BEAST'S GARDEN is a retelling of the Grimm’s version of Beauty & the Beast’ set among the underground resistance to Hitler in Berlin during the Second World War.)

Finally, I though I’d give my wonderful VIP members a chance to win a signed copy of my novel THE STARKIN CROWN, which is set during the Yuletide in a magical faraway land … all details on my blog.

The giveaway will run for twelve days (from 24th December 2015 to 4th January 2016) and there are three books to be won.

Once again, thank you for all your support over the year – I could not do it without you!

I hope that you all have a happy and peaceful festive season, wherever you may be and whatever you may believe.

Blessed be!

Kate
